ABOUT BLACK TIGER MARTIAL ARTS
Since our founding nearly two decades ago, Black Tiger Martial Arts has had the opportunity to help countless students acquire foundational skills, develop new techniques and confidently move forward in their learning journey.
Known as the best Professional Martial Arts School in the South Manchester area, we provide a wide range of classes to support students from all backgrounds and levels.
We are proud to be a part of Ashihara Karate World Independent Union and Shihan Ken is both Branch Chief and UK Representative for the AKWIU.
Our Core System Urban Tiger Kempo is founded from Ashihara Karate and several influxes from Kempo and Chinese Influences
We won't guarantee that you will get a Black Belt but we can guarantee that you will learn from the best Professional Instructors in the area.

BEGINNER COURSE
Gently does it
As one of our most popular offerings, we recommend signing up for this course as early as possible as it tends to fill up quickly. If you’re unsure about your level or have questions, simply reach out. Normally done Monday night 5.30pm until 6.30pm for 4 weeks for a set fee of £25. In the style Urban Tiger Kempo
URBAN TIGER KEMPO
Dive Right In
Urban Tiger Kempo is a Full Contact modern system of Street Karate which includes Punching, Kicking, Grabbing, Pulling, Locks, Throws, Take-downs, Body movement and Basic Ground work. The core of this system is Ashihara Karate which is considered to be the most practical style of Karate to come out of Japan and the future, we believe, of Karate. We have gone further adding the influexes of Chin Na, Shuai Jiao, Aikido, Judo, Jujitsu and TaiChi to create this Kempo style.
We teach you how to use your own instinctive reactions to defend yourself efficiently and effectively. We have separate classes for both Adults 12+ and Junior students aged 5 to 11 years old.

JAPANESE KICKBOXING
Hands-On Learning
This is a fresh version of Kickboxing. Originating from Ashihara Karate and with influence from Muay Thai Boxing, This K-1 style of Kickboxing includes everything that you would expect from a Kickboxing school. We have several National and International champions training with us in our "no egos" classes.
Kickboxing is a high intensity, aerobic form of martial arts. It involves kicking and punching movements and is practiced both as self-defence and as a cardio fitness sport. If you are interested in kickboxing, you will most likely need to join a class, as it involves precise technique and personal instruction. A kickboxing class usually lasts 45-60 minutes, and you can burn up to 800 calories per class.

CHENG MAN CH'ING TAICHI
Growing Together
